LAS VEGAS — Lorelai Leigh will host "Cookout for a Cause," a fundraiser to support domestic violence survivors.
The event will take place in Las Vegas on Oct. 15 from 2-8 p.m., and all proceeds will benefit a local domestic violence shelter. Total donations have already exceeded $2,000.Guests are encouraged to bring donation items to help individuals and families meet everyday needs as they rebuild their lives.
Requested donations include baby formula, diapers, and baby food; children’s Halloween costumes; feminine hygiene products; nonperishable food; personal hygiene items and hair products; new pajamas, towels, washcloths, socks, and underwear; cleaning supplies; CAT bus passes; plus gas and gift cards.
"I want to make this event all about bringing our community together," said Leigh. "Domestic violence runs rampant in sex work, and changing that starts with us. Showing up for our peers and giving back to women who are still trapped in the cycle of violence is something I am deeply passionate about. Food brings people together — it invites conversation and it invites change. Come hungry and bring something you enjoy eating."
