LOS ANGELES—Vixen Media Group (VMG) presents the first gallery exhibition from award-winning director Kayden Kross, open to the public, at Wonzimer in Los Angeles Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17.
“The show gathers nearly a decade of imagery from her acclaimed studio Deeper under one roof. The experience unfolds across multiple rooms and features photography by Daren Cornell, who has shot Deeper since its founding in 2018,” an event representative said.
The exhibition marks the inaugural chapter of “Gasplighting,” a multi-disciplinary cultural project from Kross “challenging the narratives that have shaped how people understand their own bodies, sexuality and intimacy. It examines the disconnect between lived experience and the societal messages people receive about desire, pleasure, vulnerability, autonomy and connection.”
"Much of what people believe about intimacy isn't based on their own experiences, it's inherited through culture and expectation," Kross said. "This project asks what happens when we stop outsourcing our understanding of ourselves and begin trusting our own lived experiences instead."
The event is free and open to the public, but due to limited space, requires RSVP. Reserve Friday or Saturday night at Gasplighting.com. Hours are Friday, October 16, 6 to 10 p.m., and Saturday, October 17, 6 to 10 p.m. A panel conversation will be presented at 7:30 p.m. each night featuring Kross, Cornell and special guests.
