PATTAYA, Thailand – Jessica Van Meir of MintStars is this week’s guest on the <em><a href="https://www.ynot.com/tag/adult-site-broker-talk/">Adult Site Broker Talk</a></em> podcast, the show announced today.
Van Meir is the co-founder of <a href="https://mintstars.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MintStars</a>, a fansite and payment platform “giving control back to adult content creators.” She’s also a PhD candidate in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she's “doing research on sex workers' rights in Latin America,” the announcement noted.
Van Meir co-founded the Boston Sex Workers and Allies Collective, which advocates for the full decriminalization of sex work in Massachusetts. Prior to founding MintStars, she “worked for a feminist law firm representing victims of sexual harassment, sex trafficking, and image-based sexual abuse.”
Described as “an ethical adult content and payments site working to put control back in creators' hands,” MintStars offers subscriptions, a content marketplace, tipping, and chat, with “no creator fees, chargeback protections, immediate payouts, and low censorship.”
According to the announcement, MintStars “has just become the first adult platform 20% co-owned by its content creators, launching a new co-ownership program where creators will earn a share in MintStars' profits for their contributions to the platform.”
“We're about to launch the co-ownership program that's going to enable creators to accumulate points on the platform for all of their contributions that help the company grow and then share in the future profits of Mint Stars,” Van Meir explained on the podcast. “If in the future we have a payout to our shareholders, our creators will get paid fairly in proportion to how much they've helped the company grow.”
Van Meir’s MintStars co-founder has also just spun off a new payments company called “MintCash,” offering one platform for pay-ins, treasury, and pay-outs, “built for the businesses that everyone else overcharges or ignores,” the announcement said.
